The Aspen Historical Society is currently taking applications for two intern positions we need to fill for the summer of 2009.
One position is for a programming/site intern who will assist in AHS summer programs, special events, museum tours and site management at both of our in-town museums. The other position is for a "ghost" intern who will work as an interpretive guide (or "ghost") at the ghost town of Independence in conjunction with the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies. Basic expectations of interns include a 40 hour work week, availability from early June through Labor Day (though this is somewhat negotiable), flexibility and an enthusiastic, "can do" attitude. Our interns are important ambassadors representing the Aspen Historical Society and we are looking for those candidates who can accept this role enthusiastically.
To find out more and to apply for these positions please go to our website's intern information page at www.aspenhistorysociety.com/interninformation.html (or to navigate your way there, go to our website at www.aspenhistory.org, roll your cursor over "About the Society", then "Our People" and then "Intern Information"). Interns are given a $4000 stipend for the summer and the application deadline is April 1, 2009.
