Why Join?
MPMA is a regional museum organization that puts you in touch instantly with colleagues located in ten states that are near to you. It provides you easy access to great variety. A regional organization makes it possible for you to meet many exhibits designers, directors, curators, technology professionals, deputies, designers, registrars, volunteer coordinators, tribal leaders, educators, students, evaluators, etc., who may be from your state or a different one that is close by. Your regional contacts will lead to a greater variety of loan possibilities and information sharing. While meeting people from all over the region, you will also get to enjoy smaller venues where you can really develop friendships and share ideas.

Representation
MPMA Board members and its State Representatives will voice your concerns to the organization's governing board which establishes policy and actions for MPMA. Your issues can also be heard on a national level because MPMA represents the mountain and plains section of the country at the American Association of Museums' Council of Regional Associations. This group advises AAM on issues from the field. You can also get involved in one of MPMA’s affiliate committees - a great way to meet people, share ideas, and contribute to the museum profession.
